Decorative Door Mats in Manila or Flax

Manila doormats measure approximately 60 cm by 38 cm (24" by 15") and are made from 12mm Manila.  £35 + £5 delivery. Flax door mats are suitable for indoor use. They measure approximately 53cm by 34cm. £30.00 + £5 delivery.
Door Mat Kit
This kit contains a length of 12mm Manila rope, whipping twine for finishing the ends and step by step instructions for making the door mat.   £25.50 + £5 delivery.

Flax Table Mats

These mats measure about 32cm by 20cm. They are made of Flax rope and make an efficient table protector for standing casserole dishes, serving plates, etc. £15.00 + £2.70 delivery.

 

Rope Coasters

Made from 6mm Jute rope in a Carrick knot, these drinks coasters measure 14cm across. They also look great hanging on the wall. £3.00 each + 90p delivery.

 

Place Settings

Small monkey's fist knots provide a quirky support for place cards. We make two sizes of monkey's fist knot for this in Flax. The napkin rings are made of Jute. Small Flax monkey's fist knots are £6.50. Napkin rings are £1.50 each. Delivery is 90p for the napkin rings and £2.70 for the monkey's fist knots.

Curtain tie backs

We can make curtain-tie backs to any length you need. The ones on the far left are made from 6mm Jute with a monkey's fist knot which slips through an eye-splice in the other end of the rope. You can attach them to the wall or just loop them around the curtain. The set in the next photo are 18mm Manila. The reef knot in the lower one is stitched in place so the curtain is released by un-hooking one of the ends which have been eye-spliced.

Strings of Flax flowers

These delicate-looking flowers are made from Flax thread to form a string to hang up. We can make flower strings to any length for you to decorate your walls or windows. Calculate the cost of the Flax flower string at 50p per flower. Delivery is 90p for strings up to 10 flowers.

Umbrella Stands

This eye-catching umbrella stand is made from a zinc galvanised flower bucket wrapped in 15 metres of 12mm Manila rope. There's space for plenty of umbrellas or walking sticks.

Dog leads

Here's our dog Tilly modelling her lead made from 10mm flax, which is nice and soft on the hands. I can make dog leads to any length, using various thicknesses of rope. Prices start at £9.95 for a 60cm long lead. Give me a call and I can make one to order. Delivery is £2.70 per lead (longer, heavier leads may cost more to post).

Monkeys Fist Knots

Monkeys fist knots have a variety of uses. I made the one in the picture just to see if I could make one that big. Tilly has left her tennis ball on top of it so you can get an idea of the scale. I make these knots in all sizes, from tiny ones for key rings, bigger ones for dog toys, up to this large one that's just for decoration. Prices vary.

Toys for dogs

Monkey's fist knots, like the one pictured above, make great toys for dogs. I can make them in a size to suit your dog, from Manila rope or Flax rope - Flax is much softer on the dog's mouth. Here Georgie the Golden Retriever is playing with his monkey's fist toy. Prices start at £7.50 per toy and £2.70 for delivery.

Log Carriers

A sturdy log carrier made from Hessian cloth with soft Flax rope handles. It measures 46cm by 30cm and is big enough to bring in enough logs to keep our log burner going for the evening. It's easier to carry than a log basket and it folds flat when not in use. £15.00.

 

A note about delivery charges

We use Royal Mail for small items and FedEx for larger ones. Prices quoted here are per item. If you order a number of different items together we will calculate the delivery costs and let you know - trying to write down all the variations has given me a headache! The prices quoted above are for our standard size items. For made-to-measure items we will calculate the costs once you let us have all the details of what you would like.
